They say a picture is worth a thousand words. The pictures in the video below show the students at Delaware Elementary at their finest! They are working with technology, doing hands-on projects, and collaborating with others. 21st century skills are so widespread that students have to be using multiple skills during every lesson and all of the projects on which they are working. I believe that classes today still need to have a balance of human
interaction and group learning, hands on production, and technology use. Our
students need to know the technology that they will have to use when they have
jobs in the future and we need to prepare them for this, but they will also
need to know how to work with people and that should be part of our teaching,
as well. 21st Century learning is truly a comprehensive process that requires
numerous types of teaching and collaboration such as those shown in this video. Enjoy!
You are doing so many wonderful things in your school - I hope you will share this video with your principal, and even consider using it as a marketing tool to share with parents/community! Well done.
ReplyDeleteI hate technology! THis is the third time I've typed my comment and I keep getting kicked off through Wordpress or Blogger - give me a break!
ReplyDeleteGreat comprehensive video, however, - cutiepie kids - you've truly integrated technology into your curriculum - congrats. Easier said than done.
If your school needs a promotional video - you've got it done.
Great video, great blog. I really like the organization of your blog. It is very neat and visually appealing. From your video, I can tell that your students are highly engaged and able to learn in a variety of ways. It really looks like you are doing a great job of integrating technology tools into your class and maintaining 21st century learning. Well done!
ReplyDeleteWow-your school sounds great! Lots of hands-on activities, field trips (10 each year-still can't get over that, our school district has one a year) and infused with technology. What a nice balance. And I have to say the ceiling tiles you posted are beautiful! You have some wonderful artists there!
ReplyDeleteThe hands on and real life learning that goes on in your school is great. After seeing that video I wish every school had lego engineering, multiple field trips, technology integration and a lot of collaborative projects. It makes me jealous. Keep up the good work, great video.
